BATTERSEA DOGS AND CATS HOME COLLARS AND COATS GALA BALL 2017

BATTERSEA EVOLUTION

THE BRIEF

Each year Battersea Dogs & Cats Home hold a glamorous fundraising gala ball to increase awareness of the important work the home does, with a host of celebrities taking to the red carpet to show their support. Having worked on the event since 2011, we were once again tasked to provide full technical production for the star-studded occasion.

This year’s event was hosted by Battersea Ambassadors Amanda Holden, Paul O’Grady MBE, supermodel David Gandy and Dame Jacqueline Wilson OBE to name a few. Entertainment was provided by internationally renowned artists Mica Paris and UB40- featuring Ali Campbell, Astro and Mickey Virtue.

THE EXECUTION

Following the concept of ‘A Night of New Beginnings’, we created a versatile lighting design that delivered a warm, soft glow throughout dinner but transformed to give strong beams and high-impact looks for the energetic performance by UB40 featuring Ali Campbell, Astro and Mickey Virtue. The unusual on-stage lighting arrangement delivered the wow-factor and ensured the event was like nothing guests had seen before.

Audio was provided using a high-quality sound system with additional units added to give  great projection to the rear of the venue whilst also delivering an extra low-end boost, perfectly suited to the band’s rock’n’roll style.

Ensuring everyone in the star-studded audience had a perfect view of the action, video content was played out on four 16ft by 9ft projection screens using eight of our Christie HD 10k projectors.

To finish the look, we supplied staging, complete with a retractable catwalk, and draping.

OUR CLIENT SAID

“Collars & Coats is one of Battersea’s most important nights of the year for the charity to raise money for the innocent dogs and cats who are in desperate need of help, so it is vital for us to deliver a high quality and entertaining evening that tells the stories of our animals and the charity’s mission.”
