We’re thrilled to announce that James Hunter, one of our Project Directors, has been shortlisted for the coveted miaList 2019.

Organised by the Meetings Industry Association (mia), the list shines a spotlight on the industry’s greatest talent and recognises individuals who go above and beyond the call of duty.

As a Project Director, James is a lynchpin of Hawthorn’s operation in Cambridge. Combining a wealth of experience in project management, client relations and technical know-how with the management and development of a talented team, James is passionate about delivering amazing events of all shapes and sizes for his wide range of clients.

Nominees were assessed by an esteemed panel of industry stalwarts, including Gill Smillie of Conference Venues Countrywide, Mark Gallen of MG Sales Performance, Robert Kenwood of YOU search & select, Lacy Curtis-Ward of The Lensbury, Amanda Thurlow of ACCA, Paul Southern of Central Hall Westminster and Julie Shorrock of Hotel and Travel Solutions.

Talking about his nomination, James said, “Being nominated for the miaList 2019 is a great achievement and one that I’m hugely proud of.  Whether I’m working in the office leading our amazing team or out onsite smashing the latest technical production, I’m constantly reminded of how much I love this industry. I’m hugely fortunate to work with so many talented people every day and it’s these interactions that allow me to genuine say that I love my job. To be shortlisted and recognised by colleagues, peers and clients (many of whom I have long term relationships with) is really the highest honour. Fingers crossed!”

Those securing a place on the sought-after miaList will be revealed at a prestigious ceremony on 7 November at Central Hall Westminster.
