We’ve once again been out on the road with iconic rock band Squeeze for their latest UK tour ‘The Difford and Tilbrook Songbook 2019’. The tour, which marked their 45th anniversary, saw the South-London legends play their extensive list of hits as well as some rare, lesser known gems from their back catalogue and solo careers. Having supported the band previously, we were once again chosen to supply lighting and video equipment as well as rigging, power and draping.

Our Concert Touring division worked closely with lighting designer Daniel Bocking to supply lighting equipment to his specification. This included Martin MAC Viper Profile, Clay Paky Sharpy Wash and Martin MAC Aura XB fixtures. A Hog Full Boar 4 console was chosen for control, looked after by lighting board operator Martin Brennan.

With video forming a key part of the tour’s production, we supplied 56 panels of GLUX LED. This backdrop was used right from the first note of the set opener where it treated the audience to a glimpse of the pre-show set up earlier that day. The screen also displayed a series of specially-made short films that were created to complement songs throughout the performance.

Mick Freer, our Head of Concert Touring, said “It’s been fantastic to continue our relationship with Squeeze and support them on their 2019 UK tour. It’s always a privilege to supply technical equipment to such a legendary band, especially as ‘The Difford and Tilbrook Songbook 2019’ tour marked their 45th anniversary. The reviews for the performances were incredible and we’re very proud to have been part of the run.”

The tour kicked off in Scunthorpe on 17 October and closed in Ipswich on 20 November having visited 27 venues across the UK.
