We're once again out on the road with prog rock icon, Steven Wilson as he embarks on his latest tour. Marking the release of his expansive fifth solo album To The Bone, the global tour will see Steven and his band play to packed out audiences across the UK, Europe and North America.

Having supported the artist on his 2016 tour, ‘Hand. Cannot. Erase’, our Concert Touring division was once again chosen to supply lighting, video, draping and rigging equipment for performances in the UK and Europe. This included a compact but versatile touring lighting package featuring Clay Paky Sharpy Wash, SGM P5 LED Wash, Martin MAC Viper Profile and Performance fixtures.

Renowned for putting on a visually spectacular show, Wilson’s latest tour is no exception, promising fans a raft of new and exciting visual elements, including the use of holographic projection. To create the unique effect, we've supplied a 20k Panasonic laser projector which was used alongside a 3DHolonet supplied by hologram specialist Hologramica. By projecting onto the highly transparent scrim and carefully lighting behind it, the 3DHolonet becomes invisible with the projected images seeming to exist in free space.

As well as providing projection, we're also supplying a 9m x 4,5m GLUX LED video wall to display the stunning video content that has become synonymous with Steven Wilson’s performances.

Having kicked off in Lisbon on 31st January, the tour will travel around Europe until mid-March before heading back to the UK and Ireland for twelve dates, including three performances at The Royal Albert Hall, London.

Mick Freer, Head of Concert Touring at Hawthorn, said: “It’s very exciting to be back on the road with Steven Wilson for his latest tour. His performances are renowned for being visually stunning so to be on board again this year, especially when he’s taking it all to the next level, is a huge honour for us. It’s fantastic to see our kit in action and showcase the level of quality, experience and expertise that we have to offer here at Hawthorn.”
