In a world with an ever-changing digital landscape and a booming experience economy, attendees are demanding more from events than ever before.

If you’re looking to provide a powerful and engaging event experience, no matter what your budget, embracing the latest technology is key. With AV tech developing at a super speed and new products constantly entering the marketplace, it’s easier than ever before to wow your audience. Whether you’re looking for a slick conference production, hosting an exclusive experiential showcase or putting on the party to end all parties, our Creative Director Pete Harding has put together his top five tips for utilising these latest technologies at your next event.

1. Think outside the box

Or rather, think outside of the industry! It all starts with a unique idea but sometimes that can be the tricky bit. I find that the best way to think up new ideas or find out what the next big trend might be is to take a look at what other industries are up to. Whether it’s getting the inside scoop on how companies are utilising AR to engage consumers or finding out what’s the next big thing in the world of gaming, there will also be some great nuggets of information you can use to inspire your next event.

2. Create that ‘Instagram-able’ moment

When it comes to sharing our experiences online, we’re a trigger-happy bunch. Social media plays a vital role in live events and is key for brands to amplify the reach of their experiential activity. It’s not just the people in the room you need to impress but those behind their screens.  One way that you can make sure your attendees are taking their offline experience online is by creating tactile interactive experiences that people can’t help but show off about. Think about what will look great not only in person but also through the lens. That way your guaranteed to get your eventgoers stopping in their tracks to whip out their phones and start snapping.

3. Don’t forget the sound

Audio is often the unsung hero of an event but it’s important not to leave it as an afterthought. Not only does the right audio ensure that all your guests can hear exactly what’s going on, but the emotional power of sound also plays a huge role in mastering an engaging experience.

From silent disco style breakout sessions to completely immersive 360-degree sound installations, there is a whole range of audio tech out there to keep your guests engaged. Without good sound, even the most immersive event can fall flat so think about it early on in the process rather pushing it to the bottom of the list.

4. Content is king

Even if you have the best technical team on hand and the hottest AV kit on the market, if the content you’re using isn’t up to scratch then you’re not going to achieve your desired result. Content is King, delivery is Queen and both need to go hand-in-hand to deliver that stand out experience you’re looking for.

5. Get us involved early!

Getting a trusted technical supplier such as ourselves on board at the early stages of your event planning can really help when it comes to realising your creative vision. Technology is constantly advancing and it’s our job to keep our finger on the pulse when it comes to the latest developments in all things technical. By engaging us early on in the planning process, we’re able to tell you exactly what can be achieved, advise you on the most cost-effective solution and tell you if we can actually use the tech to do even more than you thought possible.
