Event Tech Live, Europe’s only dedicated show for event technology, returned to the Old Truman Brewery this month featured a packed schedule of presentations, panel discussions and live tech demos. Amongst the speakers this year was our very own Group Creative Director Pete Harding who took to the Brand & Buzz Stage to talk about how event organisers can deliver visually engaging content. 

If you couldn’t make the panel session, don’t worry! We’ve put together five of Pete’s top points for creating Ultra HD events.

1. What does Ultra HD mean?

Not long ago, terms like Ultra HD and 4K seemed like faraway technologies only fit for those with big budgets. In a very short amount of time however, these resolutions are fast becoming a new industry standard. But what exactly does it mean? 

The terms 4K and Ultra HD have now largely become interchangeable. Essentially, they refer to an ultra-high resolution made up of four HD images. With true 4K sitting at 4096 x 2160 pixels, this not only allows us to deliver super crisp content but it also enables us to create much bigger canvases and use the extra ‘pixel space’. 

2. Make the ordinary, extraordinary.

If you’re looking to engage attendees, think beyond the screen and outside the box when it comes to delivering your content. By thinking creatively about how you present your information, you can really spice up the delegate experience and deliver the wow-factor.

Remember those extra pixels we just mentioned? Well this extra pixel space allows us to get really creative when it comes to content delivery. 4K isn’t just about projecting on to a single screen. Those extra pixels enable us to deliver HD content on to multiple areas using just one output, opening up a whole new range of possibilities when it comes to creating engaging brand experiences. 

3. Content is king

Even if you have the best technical team on hand and the hottest AV kit on the market, if the content itself isn’t up to scratch then you’re not going to achieve your desired result.   Content is King, delivery is Queen and both need to go hand-in-hand to deliver that stand out experience you’re looking for.  

4. Create that ‘Instagram-able’ moment

When it comes to sharing our experiences online, we’re a trigger-happy bunch. Social media plays a vital role in live events and is key for brands to amplify the reach of their experiential activity. One way that you can make sure your event is Instagram-able, is by using your content to create tactile interactive experiences that people can’t help but show off about. Think about what will get your eventgoers stopping in their tracks to whip out their phones and start snapping. 

5. Get us involved early!
