UK TOUR 2016

Bruce Norris’ play Clybourne Park – loosely based on historical events that took place in Chicago – premiered in 2010 and has won numerous awards, including a Pulitzer Prize for Drama and Tony Award for Best Play.

After enjoying a recent successful run at the Mercury Theatre, Technical Manager Ben Wills approached Hawthorn to provide lighting equipment to support their popular production as it set out from Colchester on its 2016 UK tour.

For lighting Ben specified six VL100 TS, six Source Four LED Series 2 and four MAC Aura XB fixtures from our extensive range of equipment.

The MAC Aura XB – an LED wash light – is a relatively new addition to Hawthorn’s hire stocks and is the perfect fixture for taking any production on the road; small, light and bright.

“When choosing a supplier for the tour we needed a company that we could trust and that would look after us whilst on the road. Hawthorn did just that. Everyone at the office is dedicated, helpful, and It’s a personal and friendly service. The kit is of a very high standard, they know what the client needs and they offer advice as well as great kit at a great price.

“The service we received was excellent, and each venue commented on the quality of the equipment and I was only too glad to recommend Hawthorn to them for their own shows. I am grateful to Hawthorn for their support and continue to enjoy a strong working relationship.”
