For the second year running, Hawthorn returned to Senate House, London to help deliver the NHS Leadership Academy Recognition Awards 2016, a celebration of the most inspirational healthcare leaders from across the country.

Welcoming approximately 300 guests, the Leadership Academy tasked Hawthorn with delivering full technical production of the event – from arrivals and pre-dinner drinks to the awards ceremony – to make it a truly spectacular celebration for the worthy nominees and winners.

The organisers had chosen a ‘shining stars’ theme which was reflected in our use of break-up gobos alongside plasma screens graphic frames and a step and repeat board, making sure that guests were welcomed in style.

The evening then kicked off with pre-dinner drinks, where again we used bespoke gobos to continue the star theme. The NHS Leadership Academy’s corporate colour is purple and we supplied drapes in purple, emphasising the colour further through the use of purple uplighting. In addition Hawthorn coordinated background music and LED lightboxes to further add to the ambience of the evening.

Hawthorn designed a bespoke set and stage to host the Awards presentations – this featured a purple vinyl stage covering affixed with silver, mirror effect stars. Alongside lighting, sound, video, graphics, an autocue and plenty of uplighters we were able to create the perfect setting for this fantastic event. Hawthorn also provided a small team of technicians, crew and cameramen to ensure the evening went smoothly.

“Hawthorn were very easy to work with, listening to our needs and making suggestions where they felt was necessary to make the presence and the event a success.”
